Hashimoto Captures NAIA Offensive Player of the Week Honors After Record-Setting Display
KANSAS CITY, MO.- Northwestern Ohio’s Eguzki Hashimoto put together a record-setting display to lead the Racers to a pair of victories last week, scoring five goals across the two matches. His offensive outbursts tabbed him as the NAIA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
The sophomore got off to a strong start by netting the first goal in the team’s 3-2 triumph over No. 24 Spring Arbor. He followed with a historic performance in Saturday’s WHAC opener at Michigan-Dearborn, finding the back of the net four times in the 9-2 victory.
Hashimoto became the first men’s player in program history to score more than three goals in a single contest and just the fifth player across both UNOH men’s and women’s soccer to record four goals in a match, and the first since 2021.
The Nishinomiya, Japan, native scored five times on just seven shots, including a flawless 4-for-4 effort against the Wolverines. With the two victories, UNOH moved to 5-2-1 on the season and remains unbeaten throughout September.
