FNU's Filipe Ribeiro Nets Three to Land NAIA Offensive Player of the Week Recognition
KANSAS CITY, MO.- Filipe Ribeiro was honored as the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals last week, including two in Florida National’s 3-2 victory over No. 6-ranked Bellevue (Neb.). Ribeiro’s game-winning goal secured FNU’s first-ever win in program history against Bellevue.
FNU began the week with a 2-0 victory over Ave Maria (Fla.) before the landmark win against Bellevue. Ribeiro recorded ten shots across the two matches, with seven on target.
Through eight games this season, Ribeiro has totaled 20 shots, 11 on frame, for a .550 shot-on-goal percentage.
Florida National looks to build on its momentum this week with matchups against Webber International (Fla.) on Wednesday and Florida College on Friday.
