Six Goals, Four Assists Lift Thaqi to NAIA Offensive Player of the Week Recognition
KANSAS CITY, MO.- Olivet Nazarene’s (Ill.) Atjon Thaqi has been named the NAIA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after an impressive stretch that included six goals and four assists in wins over St. Ambrose (Iowa) and Calumet (Ind.).
Thaqi aided the Tigers’ strong offensive showing, which produced a season-high 19-goal shutout against Calumet. Earlier in the week, Olivet earned a 3-1 victory over St. Ambrose.
The freshman was highly efficient in last week's outings, recording 12 shots, nine on goal, for a .750 shot-on-goal percentage and a .500 shot percentage overall.
This season, Thaqi has totaled 13 goals and nine assists, including two game-winners, as the Tigers sit at 8-2-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
