The Offensive Tear Continues for Drew Darnold Earning himself Offensive Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, MO.- Drew Darnold of Northwestern (Iowa) has been a problem for opposing teams over the last few matches, and it continued as he added a total of four goals in two games last week while also tacking on an assist in Great Plains Athletic Conference play.
In the Red Raiders' most recent game, Darnold, a sophomore from Papillion, Neb., netted his second hat trick in NWC's previous three matches against Doane (Neb.). Darnold's three goals were all the Red Raiders needed to earn the 3-0 victory.
On Oct. 8, he was a key component in the team's 3-2 victory on the road at Briar Cliff (Iowa), where he found the back of the net once, but also dished out an assist.
Over the last seven games, the sophomore has scored 11 times.
