Hornung Breaks College of Idaho's Single-Game Points Record, Nets National Recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The College of Idaho’s Eric Hornung has been named the NAIA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after delivering one of the most productive single-game performances in program history.

Hornung erupted for 11 points in the Yotes’ 9-1 win over Providence (Mont.), breaking the school’s single-game points record that had stood since 1990. He opened the match with a goal and an assist in the first half before taking over after the break, scoring three more goals and assisting on two additional goals.

Hornung finished the match with four goals on seven shots for a .571 shooting percentage, leading an offensive showcase that powered College of Idaho to a crucial conference win.

With only two regular-season contests left, College of Idaho will close Cascade Collegiate Conference play against Evergreen State (Wash.) on Friday and Northwest (Wash.) on Saturday, as the Yotes continue their push toward the postseason.
