Poulsen Repeats, as Cumberlands (Ky.) Collects Third-Consecutive Men's Swimming & Diving Weekly Nod

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Alexander Poulsen made it three-consecutive NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week awards for Cumberlands (Ky.) by picking up his second in-a-row after dominant performances against Depaw Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Poulsen won the same award Oct. 29, while Aiden Crutchfield claimed the honor Oct. 15, as the Patriots have swept NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving weekly recognition so far in 2025-26.

This time around, Poulsen broke three school records and six pool records, hitting five NAIA "A" cuts in the process.  He opened with a 19.94 in the 50 free, which ranks second in the NAIA and set a new program record for the Patriots. He also clocked a 44.40 in the 100 free, which is second-best in the NAIA this season.

In addition to his individual success, Poulsen was a pivotal part of UC's 200 and 400 freestyle relays that set new school records, both now the top times for the events in 2025-26 in the NAIA. Cumberlands also holds the fastest time in the 200 medley relay, and the Patriots are second in the 400 medley relay.

Now 4-0 in duals, Cumberlands is off until next weekend, taking part in the Centre College Invite, Nov. 21-23, in Danville, Ky.

NAIA Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week is a bi-weekly award presented on NAIA.org on Wednesdays, with two breaks. The first of those breaks follows the next award, Nov. 26, with the lone December release scheduled for Dec. 17, followed by Jan. 21 and Feb. 4.
