Camden Khon Logged NAIA Top-Time in Mile
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Spring Arbor (Mich.) junior Camden Khon of Armada, Michigan has been named the NAIA Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after delivering two standout performances on back-to-back days, highlighted by a record-setting mile at one of the nation’s premier meets.
Khon’s signature result came on January 31 at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational, where he won the mile against a field of 39 athletes in 4:03.99. The performance met the NAIA “A” standard and did more than secure a first-place finish. Khon’s time broke Spring Arbor’s school record by nearly five seconds and now stands as the top mark in the NAIA this season.
The day before his Meyo breakthrough, Khon played a pivotal role for the Cougars at the SVSU Jet’s Pizza Invitational on January 30. He ran the anchor leg on Spring Arbor’s distance medley relay, helping the team to a first-place finish in 10:07.68. The relay performance achieved the NAIA “B” standard.
