Cameron Daniels Earns Third Setter of the Week Honor this Season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cameron Daniels of Saint Xavier (Ill.) has been named the Men’s Volleyball Setter of the Week after a solid three-match stretch. The junior setter from Omaha, Neb., was the engine behind a perfect week for the Cougars, combining high-volume distribution with impactful play at the service line and the net.
Across three victories, Daniels piled up 126 assists, averaging 12.60 assists per set, consistently putting Saint Xavier hitters in position to score and keeping opposing defenses off balance. His biggest performance came in a four-set win over St. Ambrose (Iowa), where he delivered 55 assists, the second-highest single-match total of his season, while also contributing four service aces and steady back-row defense.
Daniels opened the week with a straight-set win at Trinity Christian (Ill.), registering 33 assists and adding two aces and five total blocks. He followed with the standout outing against St. Ambrose, pairing his 55 assists with a well-rounded stat line that included four digs, two blocks, and six points overall. He capped the week with another sweep at Bethel (Ind.), posting 38 assists and matching his season efficiency as a scorer with three kills on four attempts, along with five digs.
In addition to his assist totals, Daniels rounded out his week with 13 digs, seven blocks, six service aces, and four kills to fill out his stat line.
