2024 NAIA Softball All-Americans, Player and Pitcher of the Year Announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2024 Softball All-America teams as selected by the NAIA-Softball Coaches’ Association All-America Committee. Sarah Giles of Jessup (Calif.) and Cassandra Valdez of Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) headline the honorees as the National Player of the Year and National Pitcher of the Year.

Giles did it all for the Warriors of Jessup (Calif.) during the 2024 season. The junior from Hayward, Calif. finished the season with an impressive slash of .553/.683/1.174, ranking as the best in the nation. Giles ranked first in both homeruns (21) and RBI (76) in 2024. Valdez put together an incredible season for the Saints and was a key to Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) success. The graduate student went 30-1 in the circle and finished first in the nation with a 0.53 ERA in 197 innings pitched. Valdez helped lead the Saints to their first Red Banner in program and school history in 2024, thanks in large part to allowing hitters just a .149 batting average in 2024 with a total of 286 strikeouts.
