Southern Oregon Stuns Top-Seeded Patriots in World Series Elimination Game

COLUMBUS, Ga. - [Bracket | Schedule | Watch] Southern Oregon stuns Cumberlands (Ky.) with a 3-0 victory at the 2025 NAIA Softball World Series. The Raiders' season continues as they improve their record to 50-9. Top-seeded Patriots close out their season at 40-9.

Southern Oregon's offense was spearheaded by Sarah Kerling and Kailer Fulton, each contributing two hits to the team's total of seven. The scoring commenced in the first inning when Fulton crossed home plate, capitalizing on a fielding error by Cumberlands' shortstop, Aniyah White. The game remained a tight 1-0 until the seventh inning, when SOU extended their lead. Kennedy Kila's patience at the plate earned an RBI walk, allowing Faith Moultrie to score. Shortly after, Hailey Seva executed a sacrifice fly, bringing Kerling home and setting the final score at 3-0.

Southern Oregon's pitcher, Ayla Davies, delivered a standout performance, pitching a complete game shutout. Davies allowed only two hits across seven innings, striking out five and walking none, effectively stifling Cumberlands' offense. This victory marked Davies' 33rd win of the season, affirming her status as a dominant force on the mound.

UC struggled offensively, managing just two hits throughout the game. Despite a solid pitching effort from Lindsey Shope, who pitched 6.1 innings and struck out one while allowing three runs (two earned).

The Raiders' season continues as they will take on the loser of game 12 on Monday, May 26 at 1 p.m. ET in yet another elimination game.
