2025 NAIA Softball Players of the Week – No. 10 (April 29)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Amber Gainer, Cumberlands (Ky.) senior outfielder, is the NAIA Softball Player of the Week, and Madi Ogden, a senior at Rio Grande (Ohio), is the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from April 21-27 out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter. This week’s awards are the final weekly awards of the 2025 season.
NAIA Softball Player of the Week
Amber Gainer, Cumberlands (Ky.) – SR – Outfielder
- Hit .818 (9-for-11) in a three-game sweep for the Patriots over Georgetown (Ky.).
- Did not strike out in a dozen total plate appearances, walking once for an .833 on-base percentage.
- Stole three bases and scored seven runs, including three runs scored in the series finale April 27.
- Had three extra-base hits, including a triple in the middle game of the series and two doubles in the finale, driving in five runs on the week.
NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Madi Ogden, Rio Grande (Ohio) – SR – Pitcher/Infielder
- Appeared in six games, tossing three shutouts to extend her shutout streak to six-consecutive starts.
- Was one out away from a perfect game in the first game of the week, a win over Ohio Christian.
- Has now thrown 38.1 consecutive scoreless innings, a stretch that included a no-hitter, and in her last nine appearances, is 8-1 with a 0.24 ERA.
- This week's award marks back-to-back NAIA Pitcher of the Week designations for Ogden.
