2025 NAIA Softball Players of the Week - No. 5 (March 25)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Madi Ogden of Rio Grande (Ohio) has been named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week, and Lauren Steenstra of Dordt (Iowa) has been named the NAIA Softball Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from March 17-23 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unafilliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and Twitter.

NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week

Madi Ogden, Rio Grande (Ohio) - SR - Pitcher

  • Ogden put together 20.1 immaculate innings of work from the circle over six games last week.
  • She went 3-0 on the week, tossing as many shutouts while striking out 13 or more batters in each start with no walks.
  • Ogden finished the week with 43 total strikeouts, only seven hits allowed, two saves, and a .34 WHIP.

NAIA Softball Player of the Week

Lauren Steenstra, Dordt (Iowa)- JR - First Base

  • Steenstra had a record-setting week as she slugged her way to tie the school record.
  • She posted a 3.333 slugging percentage with four total home runs, three of them against Doane (Neb.), which tied the school record for most in a single game.
  • Over two games for the Defenders, she hit 1.000 going a perfect 6-for-6 with five runs scored and eight RBI.
