Abbie Deeds of Shawnee State (Ohio) Picks up Three Wins In 23.1 Innings of Work for Picher of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Abbie Deeds of Shawnee State (Ohio) started three games last week, earning the win in all of them, while making two more appearances as she tops 23.1 innings of work over five games for national Pitcher of the Week honors.
The freshman right-hander opened the week with a shutout win against Kentucky Christian, striking out eight batters and allowing just two hits over the five-inning game. Later in the week, Deeds opened the series against WVU Tech (W. Va.), going the distance and striking out nine batters while allowing just two hits as well for the narrow 3-0 victory.
She then opened the series against Rio Grande (Ohio), tossing all seven innings, striking out two batters, and picking up her third win of the week.
Overall, the Ironton, Ohio native, threw two complete games over 23.1 innings of work, three starts, and two relief appearances, posting a .30 ERA and a .81 WHIP.
