Rylee Walker of Truett McConnell (Ga.) Was a Home Run Queen Last Week, Earning her Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Rylee Walker of Truett McConnell (Ga.) was a walking home run for the Bears last week, having a stellar week at the plate to earn NAIA Softball Player of the Week Honors.
Walker played in all four TMU games last week and was seeing the ball extremely well at the plate. She went 9-for-16 with seven runs scored and 13 RBI. She sent five of those hits over the wall, and two more of her hits were doubles. The freshman played like a veteran last week, holding a slash of .563/.563/1.625. She did all of this while only striking out once over four games.
She was also impeccable on defense; five total chances, and five put outs with no errors.
Sitting at 6-2 on the season so far, Walker and company return to the diamond later today, Tuesday, Feb. 17, for a doubleheader against Anges Scott College. First pitch of game one is set for 3 p.m. at the TMU Softball Complex.
