Keiser (Fla.) Holds Steady at No. 1 In First Regular Season Top 25 Rating

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Keiser (Fla.) and British Columbia hold steady at No. 1 and No. 2 in the first regular season Coaches' Top 25 Rating of the year as Dalton State (Ga.) jumps three spots. Indiana Wesleyan makes a huge jump, up from No. 13 to inside the top 10 at No. 7. Morningside (Iowa) and Lawrence Tech (Mich.) both joined the top 25 this week at No. 23 and No. 25, respectively.

1. Keiser (Fla.)

Notes: The Seahawks claimed 15 of 16 first-place votes after starting the year at No. 1 in the preseason rating, just a point in front of defending national champion UBC. The Seahawks have played three fall tournaments, leading nearly wire-to-wire through the fall season. Keiser opened the year with a win at home in the Seahawks shootout, with three different players – Linda Stramm, Faye Wheatley, and Sophia Sindersberger – leading the team in each win. Keiser closes the fall Oct. 27-28, Marsh Creek Country Club, in an event hosted by Flagler College.

2. British Columbia

Notes: The defending national champions have two wins in the fall, claiming the Wine Valley Invitational and the College of Idaho Invitational, adding a 10th-place finish at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, where they finished behind nine NCAA Division I programs, including teams from the SEC, Big Ten, and ACC. At the Harbottle Invitational, hosted by Seattle U, Sienna Harder climbed seven spots between the second and third rounds to win the event, becoming the fourth golfer in T-Bird history to win an NCAA Division I event. The Canada West Championship is next for UBC, Oct. 20-21 at Chilliwack Golf Club.

3. Dalton State (Ga.)

Notes: The Roadrunners are up three spots from No. 6, after getting their first win of the season at Innisbrook, Sept. 30, and they’ll close the fall Oct. 20-21 in the Roadrunner Invitational at Dalton Golf and Country Club. Dalton State has been led through the fall by two-time NAIA Women’s Golfer of the Week Sara Burger.

4. Marian (Ind.)

Notes: The Knights have a pair of first-place finishes and two seconds in four events this fall, and they’ll close the fall campaign Oct. 20-21 at the Roadrunner Invite in Dalton, Ga. Marian claimed the IWU Bob Rohrman Invitational to begin the year and also win the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis, edging Arkon by six strokes and Butler by 19.

5. SCAD Atlanta (Ga.)

Notes: Up two from its preseason start, SCAD Atlanta started the year with a win at the Eagle’s Open, hosted by Reinhardt (Ga.), claiming the top four spots in the tournament, led by Holly Lau’s 2-over 218 through 54 holes. SCAD Atlanta has one more fall event left in 2025, at the AAC Fall Preview, which will be played at Governor’s Towne Club in Acworth, Ga.

6. SCAD Savannah (Ga.)

Notes: The Bees slipped from No. 3 to No. 6, starting the year with a fifth-place finish in the Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Keiser, and a third-place finish in Dalton State’s event at Innisbrook, in Palm Harbor, Fla. SCAD Savannah has one more tournament on the slate for the fall, the 2025 Roadrunner Fall Invitational at Dalton Golf and Country Club, in Dalton, Ga.

7. Indiana Wesleyan

Notes: IWU climbed six positions to No. 7 after starting the year at No. 13, with a signature win over fourth-ranked Marian at the Crossroads League Preview. The Wildcats topped the Knights by 25 strokes, led by Kamryn Williams, who produced a middle-round 68 to tie Taylor (Ind.) standout Elanor Schuitema for medalist honors. IWU also finished third at Ball State’s event at The Players Club in Muncie, led by Sage Parsetich’s fifth-place finish. The Roadrunner Invite, in Dalton, Ga., closes the fall for Indiana Wesleyan.

8. William Carey (Miss.)

Notes: William Carey remained No. 8 from the preseason to the first fall rating, playing two fall events, to date, at Keiser and at the Carey Collegiate, where the Crusaders hosted and finished fourth. The Crusaders are back in action Monday, Oct. 20, as they head to Dalton, Ga. to take part in the Roadrunner Fall Invitational, hosted by Dalton State.

9. Loyola (La.)

Notes: One of the most significant jumps in the first regular-season rating came from Loyola, climbing 10 spots to No. 9. Loyola was eighth in a loaded Seahawk Shootout, in September, finishing third a week later, at the Carey Collegiate, a spot in front of host and No. 8 William Carey. The Wolf Pack will close the fall at the ALC Eagle Invite, Oct. 27-28, at Nob North Golf Course in Cohutta, Ga.

10. Texas Wesleyan

Notes: The Rams started the preseason at No. 5, dropping back five spots after a fall that hs produced a win, at the Northwest Iowa Invitational, a second-place finish at Southwest (N.M.) and two fourth-place finishes, at home and at USAO (Okla.). Texas Wesleyan is led by Makenna Junkin, a previous NAIA Women’s Golfer of the Week, who claimed medalist honors at USAO. The Rams close the fall at the Roadrunner Invite, in Dalton, Ga.

Ratings Methodology

  • The rating is rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and unaffiliated groupings.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place, 28 for third-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ratings for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) are removed. The team’s rating will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”.
