Freshman Lenora DeVries of Cumberlands (Ky.) Proved to be an Asset in Debut Earning Defensive Player of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lenora DeVries of Cumberlands (Ky.) had a fantastic debut as a Patriot last week, already climbing into the program's record book after just one game to earn Defensive Player of the Week Honors.

DeVries, a freshman from Roseville, Minn., made an impact right away in their first road test of the 2026 season. In a 13-2 victory at No. 8 Lawrence Tech (Mich.), she caused seven turnovers and scooped eight ground balls. DeVries' seven caused turnovers are tied for second most in program history and the most for a Patriots' debut. Her defensive efforts were not only critical in helping Cumberlands secure the win, but also in keeping the Blue Devils to their fewest goals in program history.

Lenora and company are back in action on later today, Feb. 10 against Shorter. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
