Baker, Hadac Sweep March 24 Women's Lacrosse Awards for Cumberlands (Ky.)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ashlee Baker and Koral Hadac led Cumberlands (Ky.) to a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents last week, adding another win to push the Patriots to 3-0 in three games, claiming the seventh regular-season edition of NAIA Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week, March 24.

Baker, the Offensive Player of the Week, was nearly unstoppable for the Pats, tallying 12 goals, 10 assists, and 22 points. She opened the week with eight points on four goals and four assists, as UC earned a 19-6 win over No. 9 Missouri Baptist in a game that was shortened to 45 minutes by eather. Against No. 3 SCAD Savannah (Ga.), the junior from Las Vegas netted five of the Pats 10 goals as Cumberlands earned the 10-9 win.

Closing out the week, Baker tallied eight points on three goals and five assists, as UC opened AAC play with a win over TMU. She also scooped five ground balls in the win.

On the defensive side, Hadac anchored the Patriots, beyond the stat sheet to claim Defensive Player of the Week. She was vital to holding each opponent to their lowest goal total of the season.

Hadac, a senior from Rosemount, Minn., opened the week with four caused turnovers and three ground balls against MBU, and against SCAD, she notched three draw controls, three ground balls, and a pair of key caused turnovers in the road win over the Bees. She capped off her week with three ground balls and a caused turnover as UC opened AAC play with a victory. She was also key as UC held MBU and TMU to a 50 percent clear rate on the week.

Hadac now has tallied an NAIA-best 28 caused turnovers, while her 40 ground balls ranked second in the NAIA.

Cumberlands continues its AAC slate Saturday, hosting Columbia (S.C.) at Noon ET.
