Feb. 8, 2007

CHICAGO, Ill. - Adjoa Bayor, a member of the 2002 Eagles team that qualified for its first NAIA National Tournament, has been selected by FIFA to play in the match pitting the FIFA Women's World Stars against China on April 22, 2007.

The game will be played as part of the festivities surrounding the final draw for the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup.  Bayor is the third Eagles player to be selected to the FIFA World All-Star team joining Patience Avre (1999) and Alberta Sackey (2003).

The FIFA Women's World Stars will largely be made up of players from teams that have already qualified for the final competition and include high-profile world-class players such as Kristine Lilly (USA), Marta (Brazil), Christine Sinclair (Canada), and Brigit Prinz (Germany).

The 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup will be held in China beginning on September 10 with the final to be played on September 30.  Current Eagles All-American Mavis Danso will team up with Bayor to help Ghana compete in this year's tournament.
