By Alan Grosbach, Manager of Communications and Sports Information

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ashley Correa of Westmont (Calif.) has been named the NAIA National Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Kristen Fulbright of Northwest Christian (Ore.) has been tabbed National Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Correa and Fulbright were selected based on their performances from Oct. 15 - 21 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Correa, a native of Lynnwood, Wash., keyed a Westmont offense that scored 10 goals in two matches last week. The senior forward notched her first career hat trick in the Warriors 4-0 victory against then-No. 21 The Master's (Calif.) on Oct. 17. Correa continued her offensive onslaught with a two goals and an assist three days later against San Diego Christian (Calif.). For the week, Correa compiled 11 points (five goals and one assist) and 13 shots, including seven shots on goal.

Correa's 12 goals and 32 points this season currently leads the team and the Golden State Athletic Conference.

Fulbright, a freshman goalkeeper from Eugene, Ore., tallied nine saves in 101 minutes to shutout then-No. 1 and previously unbeaten Concordia (Ore.), 1-0, last Saturday. The shutout, which is her fourth of the season and set a Beacon freshman record, gave Northwest Christian its first-ever victory against the Cavaliers. In a 3-2 win against Warner Pacific (Ore.) on Oct. 19, Fulbright allowed two goals and made one save in nearly 100 minutes of action.

Fulbright owns a 1.29 goals against average and .794 save percentage in 10 matches this season.
