Keiser Remains in First as the Competitions Heats Up After Two Days of Competition at the NAIA Women's Swimming and Diving National Championship
Elkhart, Ind. – There were five national champions crowned and one new NAIA record set to highlight the second day of competition during the 2026 NAIA National Championship on Thursday night at the Elkhart Aquatic Center. Keiser (Fla.) extends its lead atop the team standings with 238 points.
The Seahawks captured a trio of national titles on the day. Luiza Bersi clocked a new NAIA record time of 2:00.93 to win the 200 IM. Sinead Valero Godoy recorded 321.852 points to finish atop the podium in the 3-meter diving. Keiser capped off the night with Natalia Janiszewska, Alanis Santiago, Boglarka Zsunics, and Bersi teaming up to win the 200 free relay, touching the wall in 1:33.32.
SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) posted four top-three finishes on the day to remain in second place with 188 points. Valle Gonzalez Ares pulled away from the field and clocked a 22.83 to win the 50 free. The Bees notched a runner-up finish in both the 200 free relay (1:33.42) and Lena Gerl in the 500 free (4:56.60).
Cumberlands (Ky.) and St. Thomas (Fla.) are tied for third place with 167 points apiece. The Patriots' four All-American finishes, highlighted by Bella Hoare capturing the 500 free national title with a time of 4:56.45. The Bobcats also garnered four All-American finishes as Alessia Claassen and Emma Phillips placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 IM.
The Masters (Calif.) rounds out the top five with 142 points.
The NAIA Championship will continue on Friday, March 6, with the third day of competition. Prelims are slated to begin at 9 a.m. EST, and finals will start at 5 p.m. EST.
