Valero Makes it Back-to-Back Women's Swimming & Diving Awards for Keiser (Fla.)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sinead Valero burst onto the scene last week for Keiser (Fla.), setting two KU school records on the way to the Seahawks' second-consecutive NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week Award.

Luiza Bersi claimed the award two weeks ago for Keiser, and this week it was Valero in the headlines, beginning Wednesday when she broke Keiser's 3-meter diving record with a score of 264.55.

She nearly topped that award later in the week at the South Florida Diving Invitational. In that event, Valero did top her own 1-meter record with a new personal-best score of 267.6.

Valero now owns the top score on both the 1-meter and 3-meter categories of the NAIA, and dating back to 2020, her 264.55 points in the 3-meter are the second-most points recorded by an NAIA diver. Each of her marks last week achieved "A" Cuts.

Keiser travels to Arkon, Ohio, Dec. 4-7 for the Zippy Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron.

NAIA Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week is a bi-weekly award presented on NAIA.org on Wednesdays, with two breaks. The first of those breaks follows the next award, Nov. 26, with the lone December release scheduled for Dec. 17, followed by Jan. 21 and Feb. 4.
