By Jake Knabel, NAIA Communications & Sports Information Intern

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kveta Hajkova of Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) has been named NAIA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Hajkova was selected based on her performances from April 16 – 22 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group player of the week selections. Hajkova is the second Warhawk to win the award this season. Teammate Jade Curtis received Player of the Week honors on March 21.

Hajkova, ranked as the 20th best singles player in the NAIA by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, capped a perfect 24-0 regular season in singles play with three more wins over the past week. The senior from Bratislava, Slovakia, won every single game in triumphing over Mobile's (Ala.) Emily Kolakoski, No. 11 Shorter's (Ga.) Iesha Holton and No. 7 Brenau's (Ga.) Eline Nagels, leading No. 1 Auburn Montgomery to a Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament championship for the fifth-straight season.

Hajkova also paired with Morgane Zowczak to go 3-0 at No. 3 doubles, defeating duos from Mobile, Shorter and Brenau. The Warhawk teammates surrendered a total of just five combined games in the three victories as Hajkova improved to 19-2 in doubles action.
