Women?s Tennis Player of the Week ? No. 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Hui-I Huang of Embry-Riddle (Fla.) has been named NAIA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Huang was selected based on her performances from March 18 – 24 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated group player of the week selections.
The freshman native of Changhua, Taiwan, went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles on the week. In Huang first singles match of the week, she defeated Anastasyia Baranova, of Oklahoma Baptist, who is ranked No. 6 by Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Huang also won her doubles match against Oklahoma Baptist to help the Eagles to a 7-2 win over No. 14 Oklahoma Baptist on March 18.
Huang continued her winning ways on two days later as she scored the Eagles’ only-two points against NCAA Division I Connecticut. Against the Huskies, Huang defeated the Huskies No. 1 singles player, 6-1, 6-4. She also competed in No. 1 doubles, where she got the Eagles second point, with an 8-5 victory.
The next women’s tennis Player of the Week will be announced on April 3.
