NAIA Women's Tennis Championships | Day Three

MOBILE, Ala.- The top four seeds were unstoppable again.

Keiser (Fla.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Tennessee Wesleyan and William Carey (Miss.), each with one loss this season, advanced Thursday to the semifinals of the 45th annual UTR Sports NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship.

Top-seeded Keiser (22-1) will play fourth-seeded William Carey (18-1), and second-seeded Lindsey Wilson (18-1) will play third-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan (20-1) at 1 p.m. CDT Friday at Copeland-Cox Mobile Tennis Center. Admission is free for all rounds; the tournament will conclude Saturday with the men's championship at 9 a.m. and the women's championship at 1 p.m.

 

In Thursday's matches:

• Keiser (Fla.) 4, Cumberlands (Ky.) 1: Not only did Violet Apisah clinch for the Seahawks with her 6-0, 6-1 decision against Marina Nagai on court one, but she also produced her 41st consecutive singles victory dating to February 2025. Kaiser's top four singles players won after the Patriots earned the doubles point. Keiser won in the quarterfinals for the ninth consecutive time. The Seahawks have a 13-match win streak. Cumberlands, the No. 9 seed and in the quarterfinals for the first time, finished 17-6.

• Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) 4, LSU Alexandria (La.) 2: Mariangeles Mateu won a 7-0 third-set tiebreaker against Lucie Ivanova at No. 3 to advance the Blue Raiders to the semifinals for the third consecutive year and the 13th time overall. Mateu and Blanca Trillo Pita da Veiga won 6-4 on court three against Esthella Valentina Gonzalez Saiza and Isabella Stuurman to clinch the doubles point. LSUA, the No. 7 seed, finished 10-5.

• Tennessee Wesleyan 4, Loyola (La.) 0: Olivia Alcala won in doubles and singles, and Laia Berne won 6-2, 6-3 against Adele Fereres at No. 3 to send the Lady Bulldogs to the semifinals for the third time in four years. It was Tennessee Wesleyan's 18th consecutive victory. Loyola, seeded 11th and in the quarterfinals for the third consecutive year, finished 10-8.

• William Carey (Miss.) 4, Xavier (La.) 2: The Lady Crusaders won their 18th in a row and defeated the Gold Nuggets for the third time this season. Isabella Lechuga clinched at No. 3 with her 6-3, 6-4 victory against Ana Sabikova. Xavier, the No. 5 seed and in the quarterfinals for the eighth consecutive time, finished 19-8.
