Cumberlands (Ky.) Wins First Pool Play Match in Program History
SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE | SCHEDULE] - In the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball Championship, the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots volleyball team maintained their perfect season, defeating the Midland (Neb.) Warriors with a decisive 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-23, 25-17).
Sara Zampedri and Brynnley Bryant led the Patriots with 10 kills apiece. Zampedri also contributed three service aces. Alana Shiery also had a standout performance for Cumberlands, recording a .533 hitting percentage with nine kills on 15 attempts and only one error.
Savanah Jolly not only contributed six kills with a .600 hitting percentage but also provided 32 assists for an average of 10.67, orchestrating the team's offensive plays with precision.
Brooklyn Snyder led Midland with eight kills, and right behind was Avery Couch with seven kills.
The Warriors, despite the loss, led in both digs and blocks over the Patriots (MID- 49 digs,4 blocks, UC- 45 digs, 2 blocks).
With this loss, Midland is eliminated from the tournament.
This victory marks Cumberland's first pool play victory in program history. The Patriots return to action on Friday, December 5, at 12 p.m. CT on court one, taking on McPherson (Kan.).
