NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championship – Semifinals Set for Championship Saturday

PARK CITY, Kan. – The 2025 NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championship heads into its final day at Park City Arena, where ten weight classes remain in contention for national titles. The quarterfinals on Friday provided dominant performances from top-ranked wrestlers while several lower-seeded athletes and an unranked competitor punched their tickets to the semifinal round.

The championship rounds begin Saturday morning, with doors opening at 9 a.m. and wrestling starting at 10 a.m. The winners of the semifinal bouts will move on to the championship finals, set to take place later in the day.


Semifinal Matchups and Recap by Weight Class

103 pounds

#1 Erin Hikiji (Providence) maintained her top-seed status with a commanding performance and will now face #5 Judy Sandoval (Grand View), who powered through with a decisive quarterfinal victory.

On the lower half, #3 Alexis Miller (Oklahoma City) takes on #7 Makayla Young (Indiana Tech) in a semifinal battle featuring a Cinderella run from Young, who took out higher-seeded opponents to advance.

110 pounds

This bracket followed the seeds exactly, as #1 Anaya Falcon (Life) meets #4 Emma Baertlein (Southern Oregon) in the top half.

The bottom half will see #3 Paige Morales (Providence) clash with #2 Stefana Jelacic (Lourdes), setting up a high-powered matchup between two of the top wrestlers at 110 pounds.

117 pounds

Defending champion #1 Christianah Ogunsanya (William Penn) continues her march toward the title and will battle #5 Jasmine Howard (Southern Oregon) in the semifinals.

On the bottom side, #3 Salyna Shotwell (Life) meets #2 Camille Fournier (Texas Wesleyan), a battle of contrasting wrestling styles that will determine a championship finalist.

124 pounds

#1 Cristelle Rodriguez (Doane) takes on #4 Jasmina Immaeva (Missouri Valley) after both wrestlers controlled their quarterfinal matches.

In the lower bracket, #3 Joanna Vanderwood (William Penn) and #2 Katie Gomez (Cumberlands) will square off in a highly anticipated matchup between two of the most technically sound wrestlers in the weight class.

131 pounds

Top-seeded #1 Carolina Moreno (Southern Oregon) has looked dominant and now faces #5 Jumoke Adekoye (Dickinson State), who continues her upset run through the bracket.

The other semifinal features #3 Xochitl Mota-Pettis (Missouri Valley) and #2 Mercy Adekuoroye (Wayland Baptist), both of whom are known for explosive offensive techniques.

138 pounds

Top-seeded #1 Zaynah McBryde (Life) remains the favorite and will face Samantha Barragan (Texas Wesleyan) in the top semifinal.

In the bottom half, #6 Reagen Gallaway (Hastings) continued her strong tournament run and will take on #2 Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp (Providence), who has yet to concede a point in the tournament.

145 pounds

#1 Jamilah McBryde (Life) continues her pursuit of a national title and will face #4 Sevreign Aumua (Missouri Valley) in the semifinals.

The other semifinal features #3 Esther Kolawole (William Penn) against #2 Liv Wieber (Eastern Oregon), a matchup expected to be one of the most competitive bouts of the semifinal round.

160 pounds

Defending champion #1 Latifah McBryde (Life) will square off against #5 Josette Partney (Missouri Baptist), who pulled off a key upset in the quarterfinals.

The bottom semifinal features #6 Allyssa Johnson (University of Jamestown) against Darby Weidl (Ottawa), an unseeded competitor who has fought through the bracket to reach this stage.

180 pounds

#1 Ashley Lekas (Texas Wesleyan) continues her dominant tournament run and will now take on #5 Liliana Vergara (Campbellsville) in the top semifinal.

The biggest storyline of the bracket is unseeded Jannell Avila (Baker), who stormed through the quarterfinals to earn a semifinal spot against #3 Kelani Corbett (Missouri Valley). Avila’s run marks the biggest upset of the tournament so far.

207 pounds

#1 Olivia Brown (Grand View) remains in control of the bracket and will now face #4 Riley Dempewolf (Indiana Tech) in the semifinals.

On the bottom side, #3 Savannah Isaac (Life) will take on #2 Kathryn Hingano (Southern Oregon) in what should be a physical matchup.
