Morales Brings Home NAIA Women's Wrestler of the Week Award After Perfect Weekend at NWCA National Duals

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Paige Morales of Providence (Mont.) went 3-0 at the NWCA National Duals last weekend, outscoring her opponents 30-1 and picking up ranked wins over the No. 4, No. 6 and No. 12 ranked wrestlers. 

The 110-pounder, ranked No. 3 in the nation, opened the event with a tech fall (10-0) over Southern Oregon's No. 12 Briseis Serrano. Next, she battled to a 10-1 decision over No. 6 Eliana Martinez from Grand View (Iowa). Lastly, Morales trumped No. 4 Diana Gonzalez from Life (Ga.) by tech fall (10-0). 

Providence set a new program best with a second-place finish at the tournament held in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The No. 2 Argos picked up wins over No. 18 Dickinson State (N.D.), No. 11 Southern Oregon, and No. 3 Grand View, before falling into the championship match to Life by a score of 32-11.
