Vanguard Holds on to Top Spot in NAIA D-I Women's Top 25

Olathe, Kan. - Vanguard University (Calif.) started off the NAIA Women's DI Basketball season as the team to beat in 2006. The Lions (6-0) received ten first place votes to earn the number one spot.

Oklahoma City (7-0) who also received one first-place vote, was second, followed by preseason favorite Union (Tenn.) (7-2), Montana-Western (12-0) and Lubbock Christian (Texas) to make up the top five. Saint Xavier (Ill.) (7-1) also jumped seven spots to #10 in the poll.
