Thursday, March 12

Honorary Coaches Draft @ The CBE

5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thirty-two Kansas City businesses representatives come together to draft their team for the National Championship. Honorary Coaches serve as ambassadors to the teams when they arrive in Kansas City by taking them to a meal and showing them the city. These business leaders attend practices, pre-game speeches in the locker room, and sit on the bench courtside through all the action during their games.


Monday, March 16

Teaming Up For Character™ School Visits

9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. All thirty-two teams visit local Kansas City metro schools and conduct assemblies that display the Champions of Character® Five Core Values: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Servant Leadership, and Sportsmanship.

 

Ten-Day NAIA Sport Management Internship Program Begins

8:00 a.m. Thirty college students or recent graduates pursuing sport management degrees and a career in sports will participate in an ambassador program where they will gain experience in all areas of operating a championship.


Tuesday, March 17

Teaming Up For Character™ School Visits

9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. All thirty-two teams visit local Kansas City metro schools and conduct assemblies that display the Champions of Character® Five Core Values: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Servant Leadership, and Sportsmanship.

Student-Athlete Tip-Off Banquet at Children’s Mercy Park

5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. All student-athlete, coaches, official party members, sponsors, and honorary coaches are invited to Children’s Mercy Park, home of Sporting KC, for a celebration and welcome to the championship.


Wednesday, March 18 - 610 Sports Radio Opening Day

Doors Open (8 Games)

8:00 a.m. First game begins at 9 a.m., last game is scheduled to tip-off at 10 p.m.

Breakfast with Fescoe at 610 Sports Radio

8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. First 300 fans to buy tickets will get a FREE pancake breakfast. 610 Sports Radio show, Fescoe in the Morning, will be broadcasting live courtside at Municipal Auditorium.

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Elementary and Middle Schools will travel to the championship to cheer on the teams that visited their schools. Special activities such as autograph sessions, face painting, balloon artists, and poster making.

Friday, March 20 - Kissick Construction Day

Kissick Construction Day

ALL DAY. Kissick Construction presents Friday’s second round games and the CBE Kids Court- try out your basketball skills and drills with fun courtside activities.

Kissick Tribute

5:45 p.m. Longtime friend and supporter of the NAIA Champions of Character Foundation, Jim Kissick, passed away in December at the age of 68. Jim Kissick, owner of Kissick Construction, spent 16 years as an Honorary Coach and ambassador of the NAIA DI Men’s Basketball Championship. Jim had a tradition of drafting Georgetown College as “his team” since 2004 and ended his legacy with a 28-14 championship record with three semifinal appearances, one runner-up finish, and one National Championship in 2013. On this day all players will wear a patch on their jersey honoring Jim Kissick and the impact he had to all NAIA student-athletes during his lifetime.


Saturday, March 21 - DST Family Day

NAIA Showcase

8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The NAIA Basketball Showcase is recommended for high school juniors, graduating seniors, and junior college student-athletes to showcase their skills to be recruited by NAIA coaches.

Doors Open (Quarterfinals- 4 Games)

11:00 a.m. First game begins at Noon, last game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

NABC Shoot & Slam

4:00 p.m. Join us for the fan favorite 3-Point Competition and Slam Dunk Contest brought to you by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

DST Family Day

ALL DAY. All families will love DST Family Day with a FREE courtside family fun area that includes bounce houses, face painters, balloon artists, and STEM Activities such as robots, race cars, marble tracks and more.


Sunday, March 22

Special Needs Clinic presented by Vosburgh Realty

3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Our Fab Four basketball teams will provide an event where kids with special needs will get the opportunity to interact with the basketball teams as well as enjoy a few basketball instructional stations and entertainment. Lunch for the participants will be sponsored by Jimmy John's, who will be providing their signature gourmet sandwiches.


Monday, March 23 - Price Chopper Semifinals Night

NAIA All-Star Game 

6:00 p.m. The best NAIA seniors will be invited to compete in the NAIA All-Star Game, featuring the East and West teams going head-to-head in the opener of Championship Night.

All-Tournament Ticket Holder Appreciation Dinner

6:00 p.m. We will celebrate some of NAIA basketball’s biggest fans that attend all thirty-two games.

Championship Game present by U.S. Bank

8:00 p.m. The last two teams standing will lay their hearts out to take home the title of National Champions.
