KANSAS CITY, Mo - Arnissa Galloway of Southern Poly (Ga.) has been named the NAIA National Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Galloway was selected based on her performances from Jan. 21 - Jan. 27 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/unaffiliated group winners.

Galloway, a native of Columbia, Miss., averaged 24.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in Southern Poly's wins over Southern Wesleyan (S.C.) and No. 6 Lee (Tenn.) last week. The 6-1 junior center shot 66.7 percent (20-of-30) from the floor and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the free throw line. Galloway recorded her eighth double-double with 23 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in the Hornets' 70-69 victory over sixth-ranked Lee on Jan. 26. Additionally, she connected on the game-winner with six seconds remaining to snap the Lady Flames then-NAIA-best 14-game win streak. Galloway opened the week with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds at Southern Wesleyan.

Galloway ranks third on the team in points per game at 11.9, while resting second in rebounds with 156 (8.7 rebounds per game).
