Peru State's Kylie Diaz Turns Double-Double into NAIA's Weekly Women's Basketball Defensive Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Peru State (Neb.) junior center Kylie Diaz is the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week after a 20-rebound performance that also included five blocks and three steals in a 79-66 win over Park (Mo.) on Nov. 25.
Diaz recorded a double-double in the game, scoring 34 points to go with those 20 rebounds, playing 38 of the game's 40 minutes.
Of her 20 boards, Diaz grabbed 16 on the defensive end, and her four offensive rebounds aided her 12-for-17 day from the floor. She also added 10 makes from the free-throw line in the Bobcats' 13-point win over the Pirates.
Peru State returns to its Heart of America Athletic Conference schedule Wednesday night, Dec. 3, at Baker (Kan.).
