Mariah Prince’s Triple-Double Earns Defensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In a standout performance that anchored the William Woods (Mo.) Owls' defense, senior forward Mariah Prince has been named the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. Prince, hailing from Ashland, Missouri, showcased her defensive skill in the Owls' first win of the season, a narrow 55-52 victory over Culver-Stockton (Mo.).

Mariah's impact on the court was undeniable as she wrangled in ten rebounds. Her defensive stat line was further highlighted by her five steals and three blocked shots. Prince also added eight points to the scoreboard.

Despite a loss at Park, Mariah's defensive efforts were nothing short of remarkable. She recorded a triple double with 10 steals and 10 rebounds, contributing to her overall stats of 22 points in the game. 

Across the two games, Mariah averaged an impressive 10 rebounds per game, with a balanced mix of offensive and defensive boards. Her ability to anticipate plays and create turnovers was showcased through her average of 7.5 steals per game.
