Abbey McNally Earns Offensive Player of the Week while Rewriting the Marian Record Book

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Marian (Ind.) senior forward/center Abbey McNally has been named the NAIA Women’s Basketball Gared Sports Performance Sport System Offensive Player of the Week after a record-setting performance that powered the Knights to a 74–56 win over Bethel (Ind.) on Jan. 24.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native wearing No. 11, McNally recorded her 11th double-double of the year while rewriting the Marian record book once again. She poured in 39 points against Bethel (Ind.), breaking her own Marian single-game scoring record and reestablishing a new career-high in the process. Her scoring came with remarkable efficiency, as she went 17-for-24 from the field for 70.8 percent shooting and added 5-for-6 at the free-throw line for 83.3 percent. She logged 36 minutes and scored without attempting a three-pointer, doing her damage in the paint and around the rim while consistently finishing through contact.

Her impact extended well beyond the scoring column. McNally controlled the glass with 16 rebounds, including four offensive boards and 12 defensive rebounds, helping Marian generate extra possessions while limiting Bethel’s second-chance opportunities. She also contributed on the defensive end with two steals and two blocks, and she added one assist against two turnovers, providing steady two-way production in a high-usage role.
