NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week - No. 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Morgan Stuut of Saint Xavier (Ill.) has been named NAIA National Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Stuut was selected based on her performances from Jan. 7 - 13 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Stuut helped the Cougars to a 3-0 week with wins over Indiana South Bend, then-No. 6 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and Roosevelt (Ill.). Stuut led Saint Xavier with 19 points,16 rebounds and four steals in an 80-68 victory over Indiana South Bend on Jan. 8. In the upset victory over Olivet Nazarene, Stuut continued to lead the way for the Cougars, as she posted game-highs with 26 points and 12 rebounds in the Cougars 86-69 victory on Jan. 10. She also dished out four assists and recorded three steals against Olivet Nazarene. Stuut capped off the week with her third-straight double-double in a 81-61victory on Jan. 12 over Roosevelt. She recorded a game-highs in points (25) and rebounds (19), while dishing out three assists and collecting two blocks.

The 5-foot-10 forward from Marcellus, Mich., averaged 23.3 points, 15.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game. Stuut shot 52.6 percent (10-for-19) from behind the arc.

Stuut ranks in the top ten in the NAIA in several categories. She ranks third in total rebounds (220), fourth in total rebounds per game (11.58), eighth in points per game (19.47) and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.436).
