KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Colby Duncan led No. 24 Northwestern (Iowa) to a 43-35 win at No. 7 Morningside (Iowa), Saturday, throwing a touchdown pass and finding the end zone four more times on the ground to claim the first PrestoSports-NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week award of the 2026 season.
The Red Raiders (1-1) piled up 517 yards of total offense, getting 239 through the air and another 188 rushing from Duncan, who was 19-for-28 (67.9 percent) passing.
Duncan capped off Northwestern’s first scoring drive of the game, punching in from the 1-yard line to tie the game in the first quarter, and he scored the next two Red Raider touchdowns in the second quarter, helping Northwestern to a 21-14 lead at the half.
In the fourth quarter, Duncan hit Austyn Gerard from 26 yards out to split a 28-all tie with 14:14 left, and he posted his fourth rushing score of the day on Northwestern’s next drive, again from two yards out that added insurance with 5:05 to go.
In all, Duncan totaled 427 yards and five scores. He’ll lead Northwestern into its home opener Saturday, hosting Mount Marty (S.D.) at 6 p.m., on Urban Edge Network.
