Pair of Return TDs Nets PrestoSports NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week for Briar Cliff’s Guerrero

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Cormyc Guerrero returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and added a punt return for 75 yards to the house in a 38-7 Briar Cliff (Iowa) win over Waldorf (Iowa), earning the PrestoSports NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week award for Oct. 5.

Both Guerrero returns occurred in the first quarter, starting after the Chargers gave up Waldorf’s only score of the game. Guerrero took the ensuing kickoff 98 yards to tie the game 7-7, with 10:57 left in the opening period.

Nine minutes later, he fielded a punt at the Briar Cliff 25 and took off the rest of the way, a 75-yard return that put Briar Cliff in front 21-7. The Chargers scored one more time begore the half and added 10 points after halftime to pick up their first win in 2026.

Briar Cliff is at home for a second-straight week, Saturday at 1 p.m., hosting 20th-ranked Northwestern (Iowa) at Memorial Field.
