Dickinson State’s Halvorson Connects on 8-for-8 Kicking to Earn PrestoSports Football Special Teams Recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second-consecutive week, a freshman kicker is the PrestoSports NAIA Football Special Teams Player of the Week, and this time it’s Dickinson State (N.D.)’s Nik Halvorson, who was a perfect 5-for-5 on point-after attempts to go with three field goals.

Halvorson’s 14-point night helped the Blue Hawks to a 44-13 win over Montana State-Northern, the team’s first win of the 2026 season.

The Bottineau, N.D., native converted on field goals from 19, 27, and 33 yards, the 19-yard attempt coming in the fourth quarter to make it 44-6.

On the year, Halvorson is 4-for-4 on field-goal tries and he’s converted all seven point-after attempts. He’s also accounted for 732 yards on kickoffs, including 481 with two touchbacks against MSU-Northern.

Dickinson State gets an opportunity on the road against a nationally ranked opponent, Saturday, traveling to No. 15 Carroll (Mont.).
