KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A record-setting offensive week helped Maggie Hollon power Huntington (Ind.) to four victories, earning the sophomore outside hitter PrestoSports NAIA Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week honors.
Hollon was a force throughout the week, totaling 98 kills across 16 sets while averaging 6.13 kills per set and hitting .296. She also contributed 39 digs, four service aces and 103 total points as the Foresters completed a perfect 4-0 stretch.
The Warsaw, Indiana, native opened the week with 14 kills on a .333 hitting percentage in a straight-set win at Manchester (Ind.), adding eight digs and a service ace.
She followed with a career-best performance against Saint Francis (Ind.), recording 29 kills in a five-set victory. Hollon added 12 digs and two service aces while averaging 5.8 kills per set in the match.
Hollon continued her offensive surge in a sweep of Northwestern Ohio, posting 23 kills and attacking at a .315 clip. She also added 11 digs and a service ace, averaging an impressive 7.67 kills per set.
She capped the week with her biggest statistical outing, hammering down 32 kills in a five-set road win at Indiana Northwest. Hollon added eight digs and finished with 32.5 points, helping Huntington secure its fourth win of the week.
For the week, Hollon reached double-digit kills in all four matches and surpassed 20 kills three times. Her 98 kills, 103 points, and 6.13 kills per set highlighted one of the most productive offensive weeks.
Behind Hollon’s relentless attack, Huntington remained unbeaten on the week.
