Fisk’s Kayla Lee Turns Pair of Triple Doubles into Season’s Final Weekly WBB Awards, Claiming Both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fisk (Tenn.) sophomore guard Kayla Lee closed regular-season weekly awards on a high note with a pair of triple-doubles, earning the NAIA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for Feb. 17.
Lee averaged 31.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, starting the week with a 35-point, 11-rebound, 11-steal performance in a 70-55 win over Simmons, adding three blocks and a pair of assists.
She followed with 28 points, 12 boards and 11 assists against Oakwood (Ala.), while recording seven blocks and five steals on the defensive end, at home in a 76-68 loss.
On the Week, was 12-of-18 at the foul line (67 percent), and 47.9 percent from the floor, including five makes from beyond the 3-point arc. Defensively, she finished with 16 steals and 10 blocks, playing all 40 minutes in the win over Simmons, and 39 minutes against Oakwood.
Lee is the first player since the award expanded to Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week to claim both designations in the same week.
