KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Adrianna Rodencal of Concordia (Neb.) has been named the NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after a record-breaking, title-laden performance at the GPAC Championships on May 2.
The senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, delivered one of the most dominant meets in the NAIA this season, winning three conference championships while rewriting the GPAC meet record book in both hurdle events.
Rodencal captured the 100-meter hurdles title in 13.14, finishing first in a 24-athlete field and breaking her own GPAC meet record in the process. She followed that with another meet-record victory in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 58.36 to win against 23 competitors. Both marks were just off her personal bests, yet each time still stood as the fastest performance by any NAIA athlete this outdoor season.
Her excellence extended beyond the individual events. Rodencal ran the second leg on Concordia’s championship 4×400-meter relay, helping the Bulldogs win the GPAC title in 3:47.14 while also setting a school record. She added a runner-up finish in the 4×100-meter relay as Concordia took second in 46.80.
With meet-record wins in both hurdles races, a relay title anchored by a school-record performance, and four podium finishes overall, Rodencal’s GPAC weekend also brought another notable honor: she was named the women’s GPAC Athlete of the Meet for the fifth time in her career.
