KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The sophomore Roadrunner Maggie Rickerd posted back-to-back clean sheets last week, which included a shutout against the second best offensive team in the country scoreless. Rickerd’s two clean sheets earned her Prestosports-NAIA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for October 27.

A native of Chattanooga, Tenn, Rickerd put on a show at home for Dalton State (Ga.). She opened the week against UT Southern (Tenn.), the second highest scoring offense in the association. She had to put in some work between the posts, making 11 saves from opening kick to final whistle, as she kept the Firehawks off the scoreboard for a 2-0 statement victory in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).

Two days later, she continued to play strong in goal against Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) as they secured the 4-0 victory to close out the regular season. Rickerd company return to the pitch on Friday, October 30 for the SSAC quarterfinals at campus sites. Time and location of the quarterfinal match is to be announced on ssacsports.com.
