KANSAS CITY, Mo. – New College of Florida sophomore setter Addison Phillippe continued her impressive start to the season by orchestrating the Mighty Banyans’ offense at the La Tribu Invitational. The Alexandria, Indiana, native directed New College to a 4-0 record while averaging 11.0 assists per set and totaling 176 assists across four victories.

Phillippe consistently put her hitters in position to succeed throughout the weekend, recording at minimum 36 assists in every match. Her top performance came in a five-set win over Reinhardt (Ga.), where she dealt 51 assists while also contributing 11 digs and three blocks. She opened the tournament with 46 assists against William Carey (Miss.), followed by 36 assists in a sweep of Point (Ga.) and 43 assists in a four-set victory over Johnson (Tenn.).

The sophomore’s impact extended beyond setting. Phillippe collected 23 digs, served nine aces, totaled 11 kills and added eight blocks over the four-match stretch. Against Point, she delivered three service aces and a block while averaging 12 assists per set in the straight-set win. She also registered multiple aces in every match of the tournament, keeping opposing defenses off balance.

Behind Phillippe’s leadership and distribution, the Mighty Banyans captured wins over William Carey (Miss.), Reinhardt, Point, and Johnson, continuing a strong early-season run. With 176 assists in just 16 sets and an average of 11 assists per set, Phillippe proved to be the engine of New College’s offense and a key reason for the team’s unbeaten weekend at the La Tribu Invitational.

Phillippe and the Mighty Banyans will return to play this week on August 29, facing Life (Ga.) and Florida College.
