Bulldogs Make History in Quarterfinals

SIOUX CITY, IA [BOX SCORE | BRACKET | SCHEDULE] – In the 2025 NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship Quarterfinal Round, the Concordia (Neb.) Bulldogs edged out the Providence (Mont.) Argos with a 3-2 victory (25-20, 25-22, 15-25, 25-27, 15-12).

The Bulldogs took an early lead, capturing the first two sets, with final scores of 25-20 and 25-22. The Argos mounted a comeback in the third set, overpowering Concordia with a 25-15 victory. The fourth set was a battle, with Providence narrowly clinching it 27-25, with 10 total scoring ties, to force a decisive fifth set. In the final showdown, Concordia emerged victorious with a 15-12 win, sealing the match.

Bella Green led Providence with 16 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Sadie Giles followed closely with 14 kills while also recording 21 digs. Cabry Taylor had 12 kills on the night, hitting an impressive .357. Directing the offense was setter Bella Thompson, who dished out 53 assists on the night. Thompson and Kyra Saiers led the back court with 23 digs apiece. 

Ashley Keck of Concordia tallied 24 kills along with 29 digs. Ella Waters was right behind with 18 kills, while Kya Scott added 14 kills to Concordia’s tally. Setters Lily Psencik and Savannah Shelburne combined for 65 assists in the match. Anchoring the backline, Shandy Faalii totaled 20 digs, followed by Emma Brueggermann with 14. 

With the loss, the Argos are eliminated from championship play.

The Bulldogs, with the win, move on to semifinal action for the first time in program history. Concordia returns to play Monday, December 8, at 8 p.m. CT, taking on Northwestern (Iowa).
