SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE | BRACKET| SCHEDULE] – In the 2025 NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship Quarterfinal Round, the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers secured a 3-1 victory over the McPherson (Kan.) Bulldogs (25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 25-17).
The game opened with Eastern Oregon seized the first set with a 25-16 victory. Their strong offense was led by Brooke Womack. McPherson, not to be outdone, rallied in the second set, clinching it 25-23, courtesy of the robust performance by Logan Hamilton and Enya Fierens
However, EOU regained its momentum in the third set, edging out McPherson 25-23 in a closely contested battle that produced nine scoring ties. The fourth set saw the Mountaineers solidified their dominance with a 25-17 victory, securing their overall win. The defensive efforts by Eastern Oregon combined for 26 blocks, particularly notable were Mylie Mills, who contributed with seven block assists, and Kiauna Mack, who added six.
For Eastern Oregon, Womack led the offensive charge with 16 kills, achieving an impressive hitting percentage of .342. Mack was another standout, contributing 10 kills with a remarkable .444 hitting percentage, demonstrating efficiency and precision in her attacks. Kate Stidham and Ava Semprimoznik directed the team’s play with 23 and 21 assists, respectively.
The Mountaineers led in both the kill and block categories over the Bulldogs (EOU- 26 blocks, 54 kills, MAC- 4 blocks, 50 kills)
The Bulldogs were led by outside hitter Brooke McHale, who recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 17 digs in the match. Logan Hamilton also tallied 14 kills. Middle blocker Enya Fielder followed close behind with 13 kills. Setters Roxanna Varela Parra and Tabor Scanlon combine for 40 assists on the match.
With the loss, McPherson is eliminated from championship play.
The Mountaineers advance to the semifinals, making this their third semifinal appearance in program history. They return to action Monday, December 8 at 5 p.m. CT, taking on the winner of Indiana Wesleyan and Corban (Ore.).
