Indiana Westeyan Advances to Semifinal in Five-Set Battle

SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE | BRACKET | SCHEDULE] –  In the 2025 NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship Quarterfinal Round, the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats narrowly defeated the Corban (Ore.) Warriors in a nail-biting five-set match (25-13, 21-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-10).

In the first set, Indiana Wesleyan set the tone early with an assertive 25-13 win in the first set, boasting an impressive attack percentage of .542. The Warriors bounced back in the second set, claiming a 25-21 victory with a .237 hitting percentage, thanks to key contributions from Makayla Roginski. The Wildcats regained their lead in a back-and-forth third set, edging Corban 25-22, where Eva Joldersma led the charge for IWU. Refusing to back down, Corban fought valiantly in the fourth set, winning 25-22 and forcing a decisive fifth set. In the final set, Indiana Wesleyan’s balanced attack and solid defense prevailed, closing the match with a 15-10 victory.

For Indiana Wesleyan, outside hitter Joldersma was a standout performer for the Wildcats, contributing 24 kills and a .254 hitting percentage. Shae Williams followed with 16 kills, along with four block assists. Abbigail Porter was instrumental in orchestrating the offense, dishing out 51 assists. Defensively, Cadee Notter led the Wildcats with 23 digs, followed by Camaya Murry with 16.

Corban was led by Emma Bischoff, who recorded 22 kills. Roginski was right behind with 15 kills, hitting an efficient .371. Setters Abby Guindy and Nadeiah Howard dished out 29 and 19 assists, respectively. Kaile’a Ontai anchored the back court, tallying 22 digs on the match.

With the loss, the Warriors are eliminated from championship play. 

Indiana Wesleyan moves into the semifinals for the third time in program history. The Wildcats return to action Monday, December 8, taking on Eastern Oregon at 5 p.m. CT.
