Lexie Garza Garners NAIA Women’s Wrestler of the Week Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-  Lexie Garza of Eastern Oregon picked up the NAIA Women’s Wrestler of the Week award following her first-place victory at the Mountaineer Open at the 131 weight class, and a win by fall in the team’s dual against Big Bend Community College. 

Garza went 4-0 on the weekend, all by quick pins. She secured a win by fall in the dual versus Big Bend Community College (1:19), and later recorded three wins in the Mountaineer Open with three pins- 0:13, 1:09, and 0:55.

Eastern Oregon women’s wrestling will return to action on Feb. 6, against Southern Oregon. The Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Wrestling Championships are scheduled for March 1.
