KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Faulkner (Ala.) sophomore Leo Testas won’t soon forget his first round in the 2026 Invite at Innisbrook.

He was already 2-under par through 15 holes, beginning the round with back-to-back birdies, and on the 232-yard par-3 eighth, Testas recorded an ace before consecutive closing pars to shoot an opening-round 67. He backed that up with another 67 and shot 70 in the final round, winning by two shots to claim the Oct. 7 edition of NAIA Men’s Golfer of the Week.

Testas made two bogeys in the first round, the second at the par-4 third, which was his 11th hole of the day. He went the next 19 holes without a bogey, and by that point, he seemed to be in control of the tournament. Three birdies n his first five holes of the second round were backed up by an eagle at the 560-yard par-5 first hole, and he closed the tournament with a three-birdie, two-bogey round of 70 to claim his first win in 2026-27.

His play helped Faulkner to a top-10 finish in a loaded field, and he’s now started the 2026-27 campaign with three-straight top-three finishes, marking top fives in six of his last eight starts, dating back to last season.

Faulkner has one event remaining in the fall, The Camellia City Invitational, hosted by William Carey (Miss.) at RTJ Cambrian Ridge in Greenville, Ala.
