Task Force's Purpose
The purpose of the Path Forward Task Force is to gain an understanding of the threats and opportunities posed to the NAIA by the NCAA's recent actions and ensure that NAIA rules and policies codify and strengthen our identity as an education-based athletics association. The task force focuses on Name, Image, and Likeness; transfer behavior; commercialization/antitrust; athletes as employees; and eligibility limits.
The task force brought its first recommendation to the COP this fall – allowing an additional year of eligibility by extending seasons of competition from four to five. This webpage includes information that was used by the task force before making this recommendation, as well as data and resources about the other areas of consideration.
