LANSING, Mich. – The second day of the 2026 NAIA Men’s Bowling National Championships delivered a masterclass in the new Mega Match format. With a mix of traditional team games, Baker total pinfall, and high-stakes best-of-seven matchplay, the field was whittled down to the elite few vying for the Red Banner.

Men’s Division: Mount Mercy and Marian Claim Their Spots

The Men’s bracket was a story of top-tier consistency meeting gritty late-day surges.

The Blue Bracket: #1 Mount Mercy (Iowa) asserted their dominance early and never looked back. After sweeping #5 Indiana Tech 2-0 in Round 4, they faced a resilient Indiana Tech squad again in Round 6. Indiana Tech had fought through the elimination bracket by defeating #4 Calumet-St. Joseph (4-1), but the Mustangs proved too strong, winning the Mega Match 2-1 to claim the Blue Bracket title.

The Red Bracket: The surprise of the day came from #6 Marian (Ind.), who orchestrated a masterful run through the Red Bracket. After upsetting #2 Lawrence Tech in Round 4, they watched as #2 Lawrence Tech battled back through a grueling elimination match against #3 SCAD Savannah. In the final bracket clash, Marian held their ground to become the Red Bracket champions, setting up a heavyweight championship showdown.
