KANSAS CITY, Mo – Campbellsville (Ky.) relied on Brooke Hager’s exceptional presence at the net during an undefeated week, helping the senior middle blocker secure PrestoSports NAIA Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week honors.
Hager put together an outstanding all-around performance as the Tigers went undefeated in three matches, totaling 22 blocks across 11 sets while averaging 2.0 blocks per set. Her presence at the net helped Campbellsville’s defense stifle opposing offenses, holding Bethel (Tenn.) to a .087 hitting percentage and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) to an even lower .059 clip.
The senior middle blocker opened the week with a strong performance in a four-set win over IU Columbus (Ind.), recording 11 kills on a .474 hitting percentage while adding five block assists.
She followed with one of her top defensive efforts of the week against Bethel (Tenn.), finishing with nine total blocks, including one solo block and eight block assists. Hager also contributed 10 kills while hitting .438, helping the Tigers secure another four-set victory.
Hager capped the week in dominant fashion against Freed-Hardeman, tallying eight block assists in a straight-set sweep. She added five kills, four service aces and a dig, anchoring a defensive effort that limited the Lions to a .059 attack percentage.
For the week, Hager recorded 26 kills, hit .422, and added four service aces to go along with her 22 total blocks. She finished with 41.5 points, averaging 3.8 points per set, while impacting matches on both sides of the net.
Through her elite blocking and efficient offensive production, Hager helped lead Campbellsville to a perfect 3-0 week.
